In Saving the Honey Bees Part Two, the saga continues. After removing a tree that fell on three of our hives recently, I decided to do a visual inspection on the bees late yesterday to see if everything looked normal. I passed the high rises, they were behaving as expected. I passed the first row of low rises, everything looked fine. When I got to the row of hives where the tree fell it looked like beemageddon, one big bee riot. I had a feeling this wasn't good and I called Dale, my mentor and Michael Embry, "King of all Eastern Shore Bees" and decided to call in the troops. Dale arrived this morning and thankfully, everything seems ok. To make matters more exciting, Michael (the farmer) arrived to plant the sunflowers and the first lavender has come into bloom, Grosso X. It's a beautiful day today on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
