Sorbet with Honey

Sorbet with Honey

As much as we love ice cream, it isn’t always the healthiest treat (especially if you have a dairy allergy). This sugar-free sorbet combines ice cream with summer fruit into one creamy, healthy treat. Peaches, melon, raspberries, nectarines, or strawberries would be great fruits to make into a sorbet that will take you back to summer, no matter the season. You only need the fruit, honey, and a food processor to create this delicious dessert!

When we think of summer, we think of ice cream, fresh fruit, and hot sunny days.

Berries and stone fruits are part of the Dirty Dozen fruits and vegetables that can be laden with pesticides, so buy them organically whenever possible. Growing your fruit would be even better!

You may ask yourself, “What is sorbet?” Sorbets you buy at the store are made with artificial flavors, colors, and processed sugars. Sorbet is typically flavored water with added coloring and sugars. Sorbet is also an excellent vegan option because it doesn’t contain dairy or eggs like most ice creams or sherbets.

How to Make Sugar-Free Sorbet

Step One: Gather Ingredients

For garnish, you’ll need frozen berries, melons, apples, pears, Bee Inspired Honey, and some mint sprigs.

Step Two: Mix

In a food processor, pulse fruit and honey together until smooth.

Step Three: Freeze and serve

Pour mixture into a loaf pan lined with wax paper and cover. You can cover it with plastic wrap or wax paper. Freeze for at least six hours. Please note: this recipe has no food-grade anti-freeze, meaning this sorbet will get frozen solid. To cut or scoop, allow to melt at room temperature. To serve, slice a bread-sized portion or use an ice cream scoop. Top with garnish.
