Four Easy Nut Recipes to Celebrate National Nut Day

Variety of nuts

It’s National Nut Day (there seems to be a national day for everything these days) and if you know Waxing Kara, you know we have a round-up blog featuring all of our favorite recipes revolving around that yummy ingredient.

Nuts are extremely good for you; they are full of protein, fiber, and good fats. When people hear fats, they may stay away from that food, but nuts contain good fats like omega-3 and omega-6 that give your body energy and support cell growth. That’s why they are such a good midday snack. Instead of a third cup of coffee, try a handful of nuts or better yet one of the recipes below, for an energy boost. They are super tasty too!

Nuts are a versatile ingredient, easy to integrate in any recipe, often adding a needed texture or crunch. We feature recipes from salty to sweet, and even spicy! Each nut recipe includes our Eastern Shore honey of course!

Finishing our roundup with a sweet treat, candied nuts are an all around favorite at our Honey House. They are super versatile so here are some ways we enjoy them: on top a fresh summer salad, to add crunch to an ice cream sundae, a fancy topping on pies, or just by the handful.

I make these candied nuts and keep them in an air-tight container for a week or two. They get a little sticky, but I like that! I always find ways to use them. As a snack, for our guests with cocktails, to spice up a salad or garnish a favorite soup.
