September is National Honey Month
September marks the start of National Honey Month, our favorite time of year! Celebrate the occasion with a jar of our Eastern Shore Honey. All of our honey is pure, raw, and Star K certified kosher, so it’s perfect for your Jewish New Year celebrations.
At Waxing Kara, we offer several types of local honey that would be perfect to celebrate National Honey Month with wildflower varietals. Two of these varieties come right from our Chesterhaven farm. These honey are the most local types of honey that we carry. Plus they are perfect if you happen to be looking for raw honey to combat your pollen allergies!
Celebrate National Honey Month with our Eastern Shore Honey
Spring Honey: Our Spring Honey comes from our Chesterhaven farm on Kent Island. This honey is produced by the bees from the nectar of wildflowers, trees, and lavender that bloom from early spring to midsummer in our meadows. Light in color, with a sweet floral taste, this honey is very fragrant. It’s perfect to use in your favorite beverages and desserts.
Autumn Honey: Our Autumn Honey comes from the nectar of wildflowers from the late summer months on the Chester River on Kent Island. This honey can be used for pollen-allergy therapy as well! By eating a spoonful each day, your body builds up a pollen allergen resistance over time. Eastern Shore Autumn Honey has a wonderful distinctive flavor, mildly floral in nature with a strong earthy finish and always a little bit of salt.
Wildflower Honey: This honey comes from the nectar of summer wildflowers in upstate New York. Wildflower honey is another raw honey that works to combat seasonal allergies. It goes great with blue cheese and cashews paired with a pinot noir. Also it’s delicious on oatmeal with cinnamon and on Greek yogurt.
