Honey-Glazed Chicken pairs well with roasted potatoes and grilled brussels sprouts. This recipe was developed by my good friend Karlen Poma. When I visited Karlen in Monterey California we had the most fun in the kitchen. I’m not sure she ever leaves the kitchen, she enjoys cooking so much. This recipe is not difficult to make, it will take about an hour and fifteen minutes from start to finish. If you like the glaze you can substitute your favorite fish with the chicken.

How to make Honey-Glazed Chicken

It’s always about the quality of ingredients that you use that make the difference in how delicious your meals are. We encourage you to use all organic and fresh-picked ingredients from the market whenever possible. For this honey-glazed chicken recipe you will need:

  • chicken leg quarters
  • garlic
  • olive oil
  • orange juice
  • salt and pepper
  • Waxing Kara Honey
  • cilantro
  • rosemary
  • thyme
  • molasses
  • balsamic vinegar

If you have a Green Egg, that’s a good one, but if you don’t it’s not the end of the world. Once you get all the ingredients together, get the chicken marinating. This honey-glazed chicken is a very easy recipe to put together. Follow these four steps, which won’t take more than an hour after work. When it’s time to cook, get the grill going. Next, follow these steps in preparing this honey-glazed chicken recipe.

Step 1 Mix the sauce

In a small bowl, whisk together the garlic, olive oil, orange juice salt, and pepper

Step 2 Marinate

In a large resealable plastic bag add the chicken pieces pour mixture over chicken shake to coat. Let it rest for most of the day in the fridge.

Step 3 Make the Glaze

On the stovetop, simmer the glaze ingredients for a few minutes until it just begins to thicken.

Tip: If you want to thicken the glaze, mix 1/4 Cup of chicken broth with 1 tablespoon of corn starch or arrowroot until dissolved. Slowly mix the broth in with the glaze as you are heating it up.

Step 4 Cook

Heat the grill. Grill chicken, basting occasionally and turning 40 to 50 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165° F. Remove food from the grill when it reaches the desired internal temperature. Allow grilled chicken to sit for a few minutes before serving.

Ingredients

FOR THE CHICKEN

  • chicken leg quarters with skin
  • tbsp.  garlic fresh minced
  • 1/3  olive oil extra virgin
  • 1/2  orange juice fresh squeezed
  • 1 dash sea salt
  • 1 dash black pepper

FOR THE GLAZE

  • orange juice fresh squeezed
  • 1/4  Waxing Kara Honey
  • 1/4  cilantro minced fresh
  • tbsp. rosemary minced fresh
  • tbsp. parsley minced fresh
  • tbsp. thyme minced fresh
  • 1 tsp. molasses blackstrap
  • 1 tsp. balsamic vinegar
  • 1 dash black pepper
  • 1 dash sea salt
