Honey and Bourbon: A Cocktail Recipe

Honey and bourbon go together like peas and carrots. The lemon twist makes this simple drink almost a little too refreshing.

Honey and bourbon go together like peas and carrots. Maybe you have a little cold. Maybe you’re sick of the cold. Either or, this cocktail promises to warm you to the core as if you’re in the center of apiary in the middle of July. We like to call this drink the “Boozy Bee,” with soothing butterbean honey, smooth bourbon, vitamin C and a little rest work together to make you feel (almost) like new.

Make sure that you don’t overdo it with the cocktails! One drink should be just enough to have you feeling a little better in the dead of the winter. Honey and bourbon both will soothe a sore throat, at least temporarily, and the vitamin C gives your immune system the kick that it needs to help fight your illness. Honey may very well be able to boost your immune system and help keep you from getting sick at a later time, although more professional research does need to be done on this topic. And of course, we aren’t doctors, so if you’re really feeling under the weather it would be best to see your medical practitioner.

Adapting our Honey and Bourbon Cocktail

You know, a recipe is not truly perfect until you’ve added your own touch to it. That’s why we encourage you to have fun with your drinks! Call to your inner mixologist to come out and play and change up this recipe. Here are some ideas–
  • Use orange juice instead of lemon
  • Add a garnish of mint or maraschino cherries
