National Chili Day celebrates this easy-to-make meal, and we have recipes that will hit the spot! Packed with healthy protein, fiber, and vitamins, chili is one of our favorite things to whip up in the midst of winter.
Chili is a warm, hearty dish that is so easy to pull together. Combine all ingredients in a crockpot before you leave for work, set on low, and come home to a great meal!
Healthy, Hearty National Chili Day Recipes
Crafted with a mix of beans, spices, honey, and…beer, this Sweet Spicy Chili is a nutrient-dense and yummy meal. This recipe is vegan, although you could definitely swap out the veggie crumbles for ground turkey, beef, or shredded chicken! Add in your favorite toppings, like avocado or shredded cheese, to make this meal something special.
If you want something equally as filling, but more traditional than our Sweet Spicy Honey Chili, try our Turkey Chili. Turkey is lean, high in protein, and (if bought from a solid company) more environmentally friendly than beef or pork. This chili would also be delicious made with just a mix of beans or veggie crumbles instead of the turkey.
This Sweet Potato Chili is an unusual take on the normally bean-based stew. The sweet potatoes give a rich, hearty texture to the chili, while the blend of spices forms a smoky-sweetness that is absolutely delectable. This dish is vegetarian, but you can add ground turkey or beef if you so desire.
Our latest White Chicken Chili will warm up any cold winter evening at home and satisfy your hunger.
If you are looking for ideas on what to serve with your chili, our Amazing Eastern Shore Cornbread makes a great companion to any chili dish and will not disappoint you or your family!
We hope that you enjoy these recipes on National Chili Day. If you decide to make any of our recipes, or better yet, your very own take, why not take a photo and share it with us using #waxingkararecipes on Instagram. We love seeing your photos!
