A Bee Inspired fish preparation that's easy to make and delicious.

If it weren’t for honeybees there would be no almonds or honey, or many of the veggies that we suggest to serve with this bee inspired fish dish. This recipe is all about what appeals to you. If you prefer a white flakey fish to a firm meaty fish choose snapper over trout, treat yourself to whatever you prefer. I am big on salmon as long as it’s not farm-raised with no added color. The best ingredients, that is always our focus, find the best ingredients to put onto and into your body.

Bee Inspired Fish

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c water
  • 2 tbsp. honey
  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 2 tsp. olive oil
  • 1 lb fish fillet snapper, trout, whatever you like cut into 4 equal portions.
  • 1/4 c Waxing Kara Honey
  • 1/4 c lime juice
  • 1/4 c low sodium organic tamari sauce
  • 2 tsp. slivered almonds

Instructions

  • Combine water, tamari, lime juice and honey in a glass baking dish or bowl. Add fish and marinate for 30 minutes to 2 hours in refrigerator.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet sear marinated fish in a very hot saucepan for about a minute each side until golden brown. Transfer to oven and bake for 5-10 minutes (based on the thickness of the filet). Cook until the fish is cooked through.
  • For sauce: In a small saucepan, melt butter over low heat, add garlic, add honey and mix well.
  • Serve each fish fillet with 2 teaspoons of the sauce and top with toasted slivered almonds.
