Kara in her painting studio

Waxing Kara® grew organically from my work as an artist. I paint with beeswax, and in 2010, I started beekeeping to harvest wax for my encaustic artwork. I soon learned about the importance of bees to our planet’s sustainability and the preciousness of honey, especially its nurturing and healing properties. I spend less time in the studio today than in the early years of Waxing Kara, but here I share prints of pieces of artwork that have been created using different encaustic painting techniques. From monotypes to classical painting on wood panels. Each print is certified as archival and available in a range of custom sizes on request. Editions are in 20 and originals (of some) are available for purchase. Contact us to inquire.
